Man nabbed with 1.24 kg heroin

Abohar, August 3
The Sriganganagar police have arrested a motorcyclist and seized 1.24 kg heroin from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Lovepreet Singh Lovely, a resident of Mohlan village, Kesarisinghpur.
Superintendent of Police Gaurav Yadav said around 11 pm, the police team intercepted Lovely.
The SP said value of the contraband in the international market was around Rs 6 crore.
During interrogation, Lovely said he had found the packet containing heroin from a field in Mohlan village near the India-Pakistan border. He said he hid the packet back in the field.
Lovely added that he had gone to attend a jagran at her aunt’s residence in Sriganganagar. He said he saw Harjinder Singh, alias Rajinder, of Suratgarh consuming heroin.
He said he told Harjinder about the heroin he found in the field and the latter agreed to buy 1 kg contraband for Rs 10 lakh.
As Lovely was on his way to meet Harjinder, he was waylaid by the police personnel.
According to police sources, the heroin packet seized from Lovely was dropped by Pakistan-based elements through drone.
The accused had been booked under the NDPS Act, said the police.
