The Malerkotla police organised mock drills on riot control and crowd management. It also conducted special inspections on Tuesday to evaluate anti-riot equipment at various district headquarters.

Malerkotla SSP Gagan Ajit Singh asked senior officials to ensure that all personnel posted at various wings of Ahmedgarh, Amargarh and Malerkotla subdivisions were familiar with anti-riot equipment, including body protection gadgets, cane shields, helmets and tear gas.

He said various orientation courses and mock drills were conducted to enhance the manoeuvring skills of personnel deployed in the field. “We undertake intensive training to check our preparedness for any situation,” added Singh.
