Major admn rejig, 10 districts get new DCs

In a major administrative reshuffle in the state, deputy commissioners of 10 districts and commissioners of four municipal corporations were transferred today. As many as 38 IAS and one PCS officer have been transferred and given new postings.

Showkat Ahamd Parray goes back to Bathinda as DC (from Patiala), Sakshi Sahney is new DC of Amritsar, Ropar DC Preeti Yadav goes to Patiala, Jitendra Jorwal goes to Ludhiana as DC, Rajesh Dhiman goes as DC of Nawanshahr from Ferozepur, where he is replaced by Deepshika Sharma.

Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu is the new DC of Fazilka, while Himanshu Jain goes as DC of Ropar and Sona Thind is the new DC of Fatehgarh Sahib. Sandeep Rishi is the new DC of CM’s home district Sangrur.

Patiala has got a new Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Rajat Oberoi, who is also the president of PCS Officers Association. T Benith is the new Commissioner of the Mohali MC, Aaditya Dachalwal is the new Ludhiana MC Commissioner, while Gulpreet Singh Aulakh is the new MC Commissioner of Amritsar.

Amongst the top administration, Krishan Kumar has got the additional charge of Taxation Department, which was earlier with Vikas Pratap.

Alok Shekhar has got additional charge of the Justice Department, while the administrative charge of the PWD has been given to Special Principal Secretary to CM Ravi Bhagat. Gurpreet Singh Khaira has got the charge of Director, Local Government, while Anindita Mitra, who was available for posting after her deputation in Chandigarh ended, has been posted as the Secretary, Cooperation. Priyank Bharti, who was heading the PWD, gets charge of the Science, Technology and Environment Department.

The Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department has got new Secretary in Malwinder Singh Jaggi and new Director in Amrit Singh. The Rural Development Department also has a new Director in Paramjit Singh, while Jaspreet Singh becomes the new State Transport Commissioner. Varjeet Singh Walia has made his entry into the Chief Minister’s Office as Additional Principal Secretary.
