A few days after flagging the drug issue in the state, AAP convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said law and order situation was peaceful and perfect for growth of industry and other sectors.

Addressing a gathering during an event to hand over appointment letters to 1,205 constables out of 1,746, Kejriwal said anti-social elements were on the run as Punjab had the best law and order situation in the country under the AAP government. He said the remaining job letters couldn’t be issued due to the model code of conduct in several districts.

Calling the Punjab Police as the “most disciplined” force, he said Punjab would emerge as a role model in providing best law and order in the state for which a model would be introduced soon. He said security of the residents was the party’s top priority.

He added that the Punjab Police had been equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology to secure interest of the people.

Kejriwal pointed out that the AAP government had roped in investments worth Rs 60,000 crore and more than three lakh jobs would be generated, which would give impetus to progress of the state.

He said other parties had ruined the state in 75 years, but the AAP government had taken massive steps in the last two and a half years to put it back on growth trajectory.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the recruitment letters were given on the martyrdom day of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, who had sacrificed his life at a young age for the country.

To enhance efficacy of the police, the state government had decided to create 10,000 new posts in the force, added Mann.
