Malerkotla SSP Gagan Ajit Singh’s daughter Saira Chahal led the team, comprising Mehak Toor and Hitakshi Sangwan.

Around Rs 10,000 raised from the event would be used to support children in need who are studying at various government schools in the region, said Saira Chahal.

“People that visited the stall assured us that they would disseminate the concept among children so that they could implement it in their areas, which would provide more support to students in need.”

The students presented 200 textbooks and stationery to DC Pallavi for distribution among those in need.

MLA Zamil Ur Rehman appreciated the efforts of the children in helping students who come from economically weaker backgrounds. He also urged residents to inculcate elements of philanthropy among their wards.
