The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Partap Singh Bajwa today flayed AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal for stating that development works will stop in the Barnala Assembly segment if candidate of any other party wins the bypoll.

Bajwa said Kejriwal had been threatening the voters by saying that if they would not vote in favour of the AAP candidate, development works would not be executed in Barnala by the state government.

He said Punjabis were not afraid of such threats and they would give a befitting reply to AAP national convener in the byelections.

The LoP criticised Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for not abolishing the VIP culture in the state. He said before coming to power, Mann promised to end the VIP culture, but 1,000 security personnel had been deployed for the CM and his family members’ security.

Lashing out at the BJP, Bajwa said the saffron party wanted to weaken Punjab economically. He said the BJP and the AAP had forced the farmers to spend numerous nights in the grain markets by not purchasing their paddy. He added that the farmers had suffered losses as they were forced sell their produce below the minimum support price.
