Team from Bhag Singh Khalsa College of Women, Kala Tibba village, bagged the first prize at a district-level drama competition organised at DAV College in Abohar. The contest was organised by the Youth Services Department with the support of the Red Ribbon Clubs.
Department’s Assistant Director Jaspal Singh was the chief guest, while DAV College Principal Rajesh Kumar Mahajan was the special guest.
Lala Jagat Narain College, Jalalabad, secured the second position, while the host college stood third. Cash prizes of Rs 4,000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2,000 were awarded to the winner team, first and second runners-up, respectively.
Highlighting the need to conduct such contests, Jaspal Singh said there was no dearth of skills among students, and they have keen interest in participating in the competitions. The Youth Services Department director further stated that 15 colleges took part in the district-level competition and staged plays on various themes.
Red Ribbon Club officials Tarsem Sharma, Baljit Kaur, Pankaj and Ankita were also present on the occasion.
