It’s ‘Sarkar Bachao Budget’: Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring
Chandigarh, July 23
The Congress leadership today slammed the PM Modi-led Central Government for ignoring Punjab in the Budget.
Terming it as “Sarkar Bachao Budget”, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring said the Budget was designed to appease several NDA partners rather than addressing the pressing issues faced by the people of the nation.
He said, “During campaigning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed to have ‘blood relations’ with Punjab, yet he has done nothing for the state in the past 10 years.”
Accusing Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of copying the Congress manifesto, the PCC chief said, “The BJP’s proposal to provide internship to one crore students is a diluted version of the Congress’ idea to make the apprenticeship scheme universal for all students. It’s clear that the Finance Minister selected Rahul Gandhi and the Congress’ guarantee over PM Modi’s false promises.” He said the proposal to abolish Angel Tax was picked from the Congress’ Nyay Patra.
