Despite, having been seriously injured after being attacked by 10 armed assailants a few days ago, former sarpanch of Bagrian village, who is contesting the elections for the post again camped near the polling booth with the intent to boost the morale of his supporters.

Following the incident, Bagrian booth was added to the list of sensitive stations and extra force was deployed to prevent any untoward incident.

Police personnel supervised the security arrangements, made in view of the ongoing investigations into the sequence of events leading to the assault on the nominee.

Showing satisfaction over the security measuresParamjit said he would camp outside the booth till the voting and counting was completed.

A group of unknown miscreants attacked Paramjit on Friday as he was pasting his posters at the village bus stand. Having corroborated fragments of evidence collected from CCTV footage the police identified a few of the assailants and arrested them.
