New Delhi, February 13
The Congress on Tuesday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to directly talk to the agitating farmers and provide them justice. Addressing a press conference here, Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala also asked why were the farmers not being allowed to enter Delhi even though they had a record of always maintaining peace.
Referring to the heavy barricading of Delhi, Surjewala asked the central government whether it considered the protest by farmers an attack from some enemy country. Why else the roads were being blocked with boulders and other obstacles and deep and wide ditches had been dug to stop the progress of the farmers, Surjewala said.
