Amritsar, March 13
A day after drug peddler, Davinder Singh of Manawala, was arrested with 10 kg of heroin smuggled from across the border, the police have booked one of his accomplices.
The aide, identified as Gurlal Singh, a resident of Dhunn Dhaiwala village of Tarn Taran, is still at large.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the contraband was pushed by a Pakistan-based smuggler, Kodar Masih of Maniala in Lahore.
Amritsar (Rural) SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said raids were on to nab Gurlal Singh, who had been absconding since the arrest of Davinder Singh. He said the police were trying to identify his other accomplices.
