Here is why CM Bhagwant Mann is meeting Punjab municipal commissioners in Delhi
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with Commissioners of all Municipal Corporations of Punjab, in Delhi, on Monday.
Under the knowledge sharing agreement, signed between Punjab and Delhi in 2022, the Punjab Government is reportedly considering implementing the Delhi model to provide quality facilities in the cities of Punjab.
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal was also present in the meeting. He reportedly shared his experiences about the measures and other initiatives implemented by the Delhi Government.
Ensuring sanitation, clean drinking water and all-round development to the city dwellers will be a priority for the Punjab Government, said an officer in the Chief Ministers Office.
With the elections to four Municipal Corporations of Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala, Amritsar and Phagwara due anytime now, the government is in an action mode to improve the civic amenities.
Six issues were prominently addressed to all corporations and the officials were asked to pay attention to road repairs,
sanitation, street lights, water supply, proper sewerage system and making the local bodies economically self-sustainable.
