Patients and their attendants at Civil Hospital Phagwara have been facing discomfort due to the foul smell emanating from heaps of garbage located near the hospital building.

According to reports, the garbage has been left unattended near the hospital premises despite repeated requests from the hospital authorities. Doctors at the hospital revealed that the Senior Medical Officer of Phagwara had written twice to the Municipal Corporation (MC), urging them to clear the garbage. The hospital even offered to cover the costs for the removal, but no action has been taken by the MC.

In addition to the garbage near the hospital, large piles of waste were also spotted near the Government Senior Secondary School (A School of Eminence) on Old Post Office Road. Despite multiple attempts, no municipal official could be reached for comment or action on the issue.
