Abohar: Health staff slams govt for ignoring their contribution
Abohar, July 24
The Multipurpose Health Employees Union condemned the advertisement, in which the state government announced that they would honour ASHA workers for making a village free of dengue and malaria.
The union’s Fazilka district president, Tehal Singh, and the secretary, Gurjant Singh, said the primary job of multipurpose health workers (male) was to eliminate dengue and malaria across the state, and they were going to the field day and night, door-to-door, to provide health services. He said they have been serving the public in the summer and winter. He said it was their hardwork, because of which they had been eliminated across the state to a great extent.
Tehal Singh said their union was not against any other class; however, the state government needed to give the multipurpose health workers the respect they deserve. He said the union would take stringent action if the government decided not to withdraw the advertisement.
