Health experts discussed effects of poisonous substances and their treatment during the continuing medical education (CME) programme at Dr SS Tantia Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre today.

Titled “Toxintel: The Intelligent Approach to Poisoning Care” was organised in association with the Indian Society of Toxicology. A large number of medical science students and professors participated in the CME.

The event was inaugurated by Dr Mohit Tantia, vice chairman of Tantia University. Executive Director KS Sukhdev and Vice Chancellor Prof MM Saxena were also present. Assistant Professor of Medicine Department, Dr Aman Thatai, Critical Care Expert and Anesthesiologist Dr Dayaram, Dr Ankush Sharma of Psychiatry Department, Dr Himanshu Khutan of GGS Medical College Faridkot, Dr Jasbir Singh from PGI Chandigarh, and Dr Shamsher Malik of Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha, discussed the effects of poisonous substances, their treatment, prevention and precautions.

The programme was conducted by Vice Dean (Sports and Culture) Dr Priyanka Chahal. The participants were of the view that continuing education for medical professionals helps in learning about new areas in this field and maintain competency.
