Hari Nau murder case: Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal booked for organised crime
Nominating Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh as an accused in the killing of Gurpreet Singh of Hari Nau village in Faridkot, the Kotkapura police have added Section 111 (organised crime) of the BNS to the FIR. Amritpal Singh is already lodged in the Dibrugarh jail of Assam along with his nine associates and is charged under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).
On October 10, the police had registered a case under Sections 103(1), 126(2) and 3(5) of the BNS and Section 25 of the Arms Act at Kotkapura police station.
After questioning three arrested persons (Bilal Ahmed, Gurmandeep Singh, alias Pontu, and Arshdeep Singh, alias Jhandu), the police have claimed that Amritpal Singh and Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dalla, a Canada-based gangster, were instrumental in hatching a conspiracy and executing that with the killing of Gurpreet Singh, a member of the Behbal Kalan Insaaf Morcha. In its roznamcha report, the police have added Section 111 of the BNS.
The section attracts maximum punishment of life imprisonment. However, it also entails that if such an offence has resulted in the death of a person; the accused will be punishable with death or life imprisonment without the benefit of parole and will also be liable to pay a fine of not less than Rs 10 lakh.
