Govt aims to transform Punjab into a tourism hub: Finance Minister Harpal Cheema
Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, speaking at the ‘Investors Conclave’ organised by the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, Invest Punjab, and the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board, highlighted the government’s commitment to transforming Punjab into a major tourism hub. He emphasised the importance of preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage, including Mughal, Sikh, and British-era buildings. Cheema noted that the Chief Minister was keen to position Punjab on the global tourism map.
Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Maan also addressed the conclave, emphasising the government’s dedication to preserving and developing tourism properties and assets. She encouraged investors to collaborate in Punjab’s tourism growth and outlined the state’s focus on eco-tourism, adventure tourism, water tourism, and wellness tourism. Maan assured investors of full support, noting that Invest Punjab offers a streamlined platform for all necessary clearances to set up ventures in the state.
The Tourism Minister cited the Ranjit Sagar Lake as the flagship project that would elevate Punjab’s tourism sector. Highlighting the success of the previous Tourism Summit, she emphasised the state’s investor-friendly policies.
