A major fire broke on Monday night at Batra Electronics, a large electronics showroom in Hoshiarpur’s busiest market, causing extensive damage to goods worth crores of rupees. Prompt action by the fire brigade prevented the blaze from spreading further, averting a potential tragedy.

Pawan Kumar Saini, a fire brigade official, said the fire brigade received a distress call late at night reporting the blaze at Gulshan Batra’s Batra Electronics. Firefighters rushed to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control. Despite their efforts, a significant amount of stock in the showroom was destroyed.

The intensity of the fire required four fire tenders to extinguish the blaze. MLA Brahm Shankar Jipa, Mayor Surinder Kumar and other local leaders arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
