The trend is being witnessed mainly in the Congress and AAP. However, leaders of both parties are accusing each other of pressuring their supporters to join their organisations.

Further, Gurbaz Singh of Smagh village recently joined the Congress at Raja Warring’s residence in Muktsar, but later switched to AAP.

Raja Singh of Assa Buttar village too did the same recently. He said, “Our family is with Dimpy Dhillon. Raja Warring forcibly made us to join the Congress.”

On this, Congress candidate Amrita Warring claimed, “A number of our workers have told me that AAP leaders had been threatening them, but I keep telling them that they must work fearlessly and should not indulge in any unlawful activity.”

Similarly, Raja Warring said, “I am getting reports that the police are harassing Congress workers. I appeal to the Muktsar SSP to keep a check on such activities or I will be forced to take action.”
