Fuel station staff robbed of Rs 2.18L
Some miscreants who had allegedly been named in a robbery attempt on August 1 at a petrol pump in Narayanpura village, about 30 km from here, targeted the staff again last night and looted Rs 2.18 lakh. The victims have been admitted to the Abohar Civil Hospital for treatment.
A victim, Tek Chand, who is undergoing treatment, said he worked as a manager at the fuel station in Narayanpura village. He said on August 1 he some youths attacked and tried to rob him when he was sleeping. He said a case was registered against the miscreants; however, they got bail.
Chand said he was returning home from the fuel station with about Rs 2.18 lakh, adding that his younger brother, His brother Laxman, was with him. He said about 2 km away from the station, some youths stopped him and Laxman and began beating them. He said they snatched his bag full of cash and fled. He said he called the fuel station owner, adding that the owner informed the police.
Senior Superintendent of Police Varinder Singh Brar said investigation in the case was on, adding that action would be taken against the guilty.
