Four land in police net for killing youth at Abohar park

The City-2 police have arrested four men for killing a 21-year-youth at Jaiprakash Narayan Park in the Nai Abadi area on Tuesday. The accused were identified as Rahul Bona, Aman Billa, Rohit Mali and Mani Bugga.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Karanveer Singh said the investigation revealed that deceased Ravi Khanna’s wife Nisha had an affair with key suspect Rahul Bona. Ravi used to often have an argument with Rahul for talking to his wife, following which Rahul and his associates had given death threats to Ravi.

The SP said Rahul called Ravi to the park on Tuesday night, and later killed him with the help of his friends. When Vikram — Ravi’s friend who had accompanied him to the park — intervened, he was also assaulted. Vikram is under treatment in Bathinda now.

The police said the suspects, who were identified within six hours of initiating investigation, were caught by the police teams on Tuesday. A case number was registered against them under Sections 103 (1), 115 (2) and 3 (5) of the BNS.

Besides, criminal cases have already been registered against Rahul Bona and Rohit Mali under various sections.
