According to inquiry report, the BOCW Welfare Board disbursed ex gratia in Sangrur district to “fake” beneficiaries who were registered after their deaths. Similarly, glaring irregularities were also found in the Shagun scheme.

Vijay Walia, complainant in the case, said, “I have asked for a Vigilance probe. The BOCW Welfare Board is continuously ignoring my request.”
