Five held with illicit liquor in Abohar

Ahead of voting for the panchayat poll, which is scheduled for October 15, the police have seized 80 bottles of illicit liquor from Sonu Kumar of Dhani Kadaka Singh during inspection of his car near PUDA Colony.

In another incident, cops seized 20 bottles of liquor from Vikram Vicky of Azeemgarh. A biker identified as Sukhchain Singh, who was going from Khat Lubana in Hindumalkot to Abohar, was found in possession of 50 litres of illicit liquor.

Buta Singh of Ajit Singh Nagar and Balbir Singh of Indira Nagri in Abohar were nabbed with nine and eight bottles of illicit liquor, respectively. All accused have been booked under the Excise Act.

Meanwhile, the administration has issued prohibitory orders on the use of loudspeakers from 6 pm on Sunday till counting of votes on October 15.
