Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has taken strict action against five candidates applying for admission to MBBS course under the state quota. These candidates allegedly submitted domicile certificates from more than one state, violating the rules governing admissions.

The decision came after numerous complaints from parents and candidates about applicants using double domicile to benefit under state quota in multiple states. BFUHS Registrar Dr Rakesh Gorea stated these candidates submitted false declarations, claiming they hadn’t applied or wouldn’t apply for admission under NEET-UG in other states.

To address these complaints, the BFUHS scrutinised certificates of suspected candidates and asked them to provide evidence to prove their eligibility. Following a review, five candidates were barred from admission to the MBBS courses in Punjab.
