The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), the two forums protesting at the Shambhu border for the past nine months, have rejected to meet the Supreme Court-appointed committee for discussing various issues.

The five-member panel comprises Justice Nawab Singh, former Judge of the Punjab and Haryana HC; PS Sandhu, former DG of Haryana; Devender Sharma, Professor of Eminence at GNCT, Amritsar; Dr Sukhpal Singh, agricultural economist from PAU; special invitee Professor BR Kambhoj, Vice-Chancellor of Chaudhary Charan Singh Agriculture University, Hisar. The panel was formed in September to iron out various issues with the protesting farmers. Farmer leaders said no organisation had made any demand to the Supreme Court to form any panel.
