Except for AAP’s Karamjit Anmol, no other candidate who was in contention for the Faridkot seat during the last Lok Sabha elections has so far turned up in the Gidderbaha Assembly constituency to campaign for their respective party candidates even as the bypoll is less than a week away. Notably, Gidderbaha Assembly segment falls in Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency.

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, son of former PM Indira Gandhi’s assassin Beant Singh, is the independent MP from Faridkot. He once toured the constituency after winning the Lok Sabha election, but is missing from action in the constituency since a long time.

Amarjit Kaur Sahoke, who had contested the LS poll as Congress candidate, has gone to the USA. Her husband Bhupinder Singh is campaigning for the party candidate Amrita Warring.

Renowned singer-cum-Padma Shri Hans Raj Hans, who had contested the parliamentary poll on a BJP ticket, is reportedly busy with his artistic engagements, shows scheduled in other countries. He too has not visited Gidderbaha to campaign for his party candidate Manpreet Singh Badal.

AAP’s Karamjit Anmol, an actor-comedian-singer, has so far come to Gidderbaha and that too in CM Bhagwant Mann’s programme today, where he delivered a short speech as well. He too had been busy with his artistic programmes earlier.
