Factory worker dragged 1 km by bike-borne robbers in Ludhiana
Ludhiana is witnessing a surge in snatching and robbery incidents, with around a dozen incidents reported just in the first week of September, some of which were not reported to the police. In the latest incident on Saturday night on the Tajpur road, two bike-borne robbers snatched a mobile phone from Ashu Yadav, a factory worker returning home. Ashu grabbed the robbers’ bike in an attempt to stop them, but his bracelet got stuck, and the robbers dragged him for over 1 km.

Bystanders noticed the crime and chased the robbers, who eventually collided with a car. Investigating officer Jagdish Raj said Ashu suffered serious injuries while both snatchers, identified as Aman and Shubham from Amritsar, fell unconscious after colliding with the car. Both were found to be drug addicts with no prior criminal history, added Jagdish.
The police have arrested around 10 snatchers this week, many of whom confessed to committing crimes under the influence of drugs.
