Former Punjab Chief Secretary V K Janjua has been appointed Chairman of the Punjab Transparency and Accountability Commission. His name was cleared by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday.

Janjua had retired as Chief Secretary in June last year after a stint of 11 months. Being the senior-most bureaucrat then, he was chosen as the Chief Secretary by the AAP Government, after Anirudh Tewari was transferred as the CS of Punjab.

He had even applied for the post of the Chairperson of Punjab Public Service Commission. However, Jatinder Singh Aulakh, a former police officer, was appointed to the post.
