The SGPC on Saturday unanimously resolved not to allow the screening of Kangana Ranaut-starrer “Emergency” in Punjab for its alleged character assassination of Sikhs.
SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said the executive body had asked the Bhagwant Mann-led state government to ban its screening “for the sake of communal harmony”. Dhami claimed the movie portrayed the Sikh community and its leaders in a bad light, which could not be tolerated.
