A total of eight women in the area were blessed with babies on Diwali night, leading their families to feel that the Goddess Lakshmi has arrived. In many households, the birth of a girl child on Diwali is considered auspicious, symbolising prosperity and happiness.

A total of five babies were born in the maternity ward of Abohar Subdivision Hospital; one girl was born in VK Hospital and two in Nagpal Nursing Home. Sunita, from Rajpura village, joyfully welcomed her first child. Aarti, from Kala Tibba village, celebrated the arrival of her third daughter, and Jaswinder Kaur from Ghallu and Ramandeep from Khuian Sarwar also welcomed daughters. The families said the birth of a girl on Diwali was a divine blessing.

Many believe babies born on Diwali are fortunate, receiving blessings from Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
