Mundian said it had come to the notice of the department that despite the clear instructions of the government, many mutations were pending for more than 45 days. Some mutations were pending for more than a year.

The department issued a letter to the DCs, SDMs, DROs, tehsildars and naib tehsildars in this regard and directed them to launch a special campaign and decide all pending dispute-free mutations by December 31.
