DC urges residents to be cautious amid cold
With the cold, fog and chilly winds expected to increase in the coming days, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal has urged residents to take necessary precautions to avoid any discomfort or health risks.
In her appeal, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of preparing for the cold weather, especially for the elderly and children. She advised people to make arrangements to protect themselves, their families and animals from the harsh conditions. Special attention should also be given to safeguarding crops and other valuables.
Deputy Commissioner Mittal stressed the need for vigilance during this season, urging residents not to be careless. If anyone experiences health issues due to the cold, she recommended consulting a doctor as soon as possible. She also appealed to motorists to drive cautiously in foggy conditions, maintaining slow speeds and ensuring vehicle lights and signals are fully operational to avoid accidents. She said drivers should avoid using mobile phones and overtaking vehicles in foggy conditions.
She highlighted the need to protect animals from the cold, ensuring proper measures are in place, especially at slaughterhouses, to shield them from the cold winds.
