The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced that the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) paper will now be treated as a qualifying paper in the PCS preliminary examination, with merit determined solely by the general studies paper. This aligns the PCS exam pattern with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) format, following approval from the Punjab government under the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

PPSC Chairman Jatinder Singh Aulakh also highlighted a focus on Punjab’s history, geography, culture, and economy in the general studies paper-1 for PCS main examination. The changes aim to provide relief to rural and underprivileged aspirants.
