‘Controversial’ posters removed, says Dimpy in reply to poll panel notice

AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon today replied to the notice issued to him by Returning Officer-cum-SDM Jaspal Singh Brar stating “controversial” posters had been removed by him.

Notably, a notice was issued to Dimpy on Wednesday after the Returning Officer received a complaint that the AAP candidate had put up posters using the photos of Congress candidate Amrita Warring and BJP candidate Manpreet Singh Badal and crossing these with red ink as well.

The Returning Officer said, “The AAP candidate has stated in his reply that he was unaware that he could not use the photo of any leader or candidate of another party on his posters, which have been removed now. He further claimed that the photos of both Manpreet and Amrita were not crossed by him with ink, but some mischievous elements. Dimpy further said he had no intention to give bad name to anyone, but his opponents were regularly making personal comments against him.”

Ex-MP extends support

Meanwhile, former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar, who had filed his nomination for the Gidderbaha bypoll but withdrew it later, has now started campaigning for AAP candidate Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon.

Jagmeet said, "I am supporting Dimpy as a candidate and not his party. I am not joining AAP. However, Dimpy deserves to become an MLA. On the other hand, Warring is so arrogant. I am asking my supporters to support Dimpy. This is a fight between humbleness and arrogance..."
