Moga, July 9

Congress workers protested for the second consecutive day today against the arrest of Dr Ashu Banger and demanded his immediate release.

PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring yesterday also participated in the protest. He alleged, “AAP is indulging into dirty politics to settle personal scores with opponents just like the Akalis. It is not good for the state.”

Former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira asked the state government not to indulge in vendetta politics. Zira said Dr Banger was booked under the influence of AAP leadership just because he had refused to contest the Assembly election on AAP’s ticket and had exposed widespread corruption in the party.

The FIR has been registered on a complaint of ASI Mohkam Singh, who stated that when he along with other policemen was on a routine patrolling on the Kotkapura bypass on Thursday, an unknown person came to him.

“He took me a few yards away from other cops and said Hardeep Brar and Dr Ashu Banger along with unknown persons were preparing fake experience documents for youths interested to go abroad,” the ASI added.
