Congress holds workers’ meeting in Hoshiarpur
The Punjab Congress leadership has started holding meetings of party leaders for the forthcoming byelections to Gidderbaha, Sangrur, Chabbewal and Dera Baba Nanak Assembly seats.
As part of the exercise, PPCC chief Amrinder Raja Warring and CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa today held a meeting of party workers at Hoshiarpur. Former minister Sunder Sham Arora, who recently joined back the Congress, was also present on the occasion.
After Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, former Deputy Leader of Opposition, left the Congress to join AAP before being elected as MP from Hoshiarpur, the party was looking for a suitable face to fill in the gap for the Chabbewal Assembly segment. Former minister Dr Raj Kumar Verka has been appointed observer for the Chabbewal constituency.
