ABOHAR: A newborn girl was found abandoned in shrubs near a railway track outside Model Town in Abohar today.

Abohar, July 21

A newborn girl was found abandoned in shrubs near a railway track outside Model Town in Abohar today. 

A resident, Gurdyal Singh, spotted the baby during his morning walk. The baby was covered with ants. Gurdyal informed activists of Nar Sewa Narayan Sewa, which sent a message to Government Railway Police and arranged an ambulance which provided first aid.

The infant was shifted to a private hospital. NGO president Raju Charaya said the administration had been informed for further action. — OC
