Chief Secretary Sinha assumes charge
KAP Sinha, IAS officer of the 1992 batch (Punjab cadre), assumed charge as the 43rd Chief Secretary of the state at the Punjab Civil Secretariat on Thursday.
He would also hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Personnel, General Administration and Vigilance.
Speaking on the occasion, Sinha said he received immense love from Punjab and its people while serving on various posts in different departments. He would work tirelessly to serve the state and its people, he said.
The citizen-centric services would continue in a transparent and hassle-free manner with emphasis on overall development of the state under the CM Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government, he said.
Sinha was at present serving as the Special Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Revenue). Earlier, he served in various departments, including Finance, Taxation, Food and Civil Supplies, Higher Education, Environment and Science & Technology, Parliamentary Affairs and General Administration.
During his stint with the Union Government, he worked in the External Affairs Ministry, Industries & Commerce and Atomic Energy Departments. He also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda and Gurdaspur during field postings. He has done Masters in economics, LLM and BTech (Mining Engineering).
