Under the aegis of the Directorate of Students’ Welfare, a session on ‘’Career Counselling and Resume Building’’ was organised by the University Counselling and Placement Guidance Cell at Punjab Agricultural University.

Final-year students of BTech (Agricultural Engineering) from the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology were given tips to choose their careers, CV building and interview skills by the Associate Director at the University Counselling and Placement Guidance Cell, Dr Khushdeep Dharni.

Dr Dharni emphasised the need to acquire relevant skill sets to enhance employability and be job-ready in the hypercompetitive world. He shared insights into building a resume and discussed the components of a good resume in detail. Dr Dharni also stressed the importance of being a team worker to win a job position and to climb up the ladder of career progression in the corporate world. He said continuous skill acquisition and honing them was the key to building the resume, adding the best form of competition was competing against oneself.

The Director of Students’ Welfare, Dr Nirmal Singh Jaura, said the university was working on the all-round development of its students. He lauded the efforts of the placement cell for imparting vital insights to the students in the wake of the forthcoming placement season.
