Capt urges PM to clear Rs937-cr projects to mark Prakash Purb
Chandigarh, April 8
Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh today urged PM Narendra Modi to clear the state’s proposal for Rs 937-crore projects, including the development of Anandpur Sahib as Smart City, to pay befitting tribute to 9th Guru Sri Guru Teg Bahadur whose 400th Prakash Purb is being celebrated this year.
Participating virtually in the national committee meeting convened by the PM to finalise plans for the celebrations, the CM said, “I urge PM Modi to ensure the event is commemorated not only at the national, but also at the global level.”
Need to document Sikh spirit of service

He said the proposal included projects in and around Anandpur Sahib, Amritsar and Baba Bakala; rejuvenation of ponds in 78 Punjab villages visited by the Guru; setting up Sri Guru Teg Bahadur School of Textile Technology and Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Institute of Handicrafts. Besides Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, ex-PM Manmohan Singh, Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and LoP Mallikarjun Kharge participated in the meeting. — TNS
