Hundreds of acres of land got submerged due to erosion in a sub canal near Dalmirkhera village, 19 km from here.

Farmers of the area said a poorly designed outlet resulted in overflowing, which led to a breach. They said hundreds of acres of land got flooded, submerging it. The machinery of the solar system installed in a field was affected and a wall of the cremation ground also collapsed.

Officials of the Canal Department reached the spot, suspended water supply and began plugging the breach. Farmers said the size of the outlet needed correction, the breach should be repaired and silt from the sub-canal should be removed.
