Café worker robbed

A chef returning from a cafe on the state highway was attacked and robbed yesterday by some miscreants. The victim, Navpreet Singh, resisted the miscreants and had a scuffle with them. The suspects fled after looting money from Navpreet; however, they left their motorcycle on the road as they were in a hurry. Navpreet has been admitted to the Abohar Civil Hospital for treatment.
According to the information, Navpreet Singh, a resident of Gurdaspur, works at a cafe in Abohar. Last night, when he was returning home from work, three motorcycle-borne robbers attacked him. They looted his money and fled. As the victim was shouting for help from passersby, the miscreants left their motorcycle and fled.
A police official, Pappu Ram, who reached the hospital, said the police were investigating the incident and the victim’s statement would be recorded. He said the motorcycle had been seized.
