Briefly: AAP state in-charge meets Chief Minister Mann
Chandigarh: Jarnail Singh, Punjab in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party, met Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday to enquire about his health. He also discussed several political issues. He expressed concern over reports of irregularities coming from several places during the panchayat poll and emphasised the need for strict action against erring individuals. Jarnail pointed out that though the panchayat elections were not being contested under any party symbol, they were crucial for social, political and economic development of rural Punjab.
2 dead, 7 injured due to electrocution
Faridkot: Two persons, including a woman, got electrocuted during a nagar kirtan at Kot Sadar Khan village in Moga. The deceased have been identified as Joginder Kaur of Padri village, Ferozepur, and Ranjit Singh of Rodewal village. Seven others who suffered burn injuries were admitted to a private hospital. The incident took place after the Palki Sahib during the nagar kirtan touched overhead wires.
Two bikers killed in road mishap
Abohar: Two persons riding a bike died in a collision with a Canter on the Abohar-Killianwali bypass late on Thursday. The bodies of the deceased have been brought to the Abohar Civil Hospital for postmortem examination. According to the information, 59-year-old Prabhu Dayal of Khatwan village was going to his village on a bike along with his friend, 45-year-old Joginder Singh of Hasta Kala village. The bike collided with a Canter and both were injured seriously. Some passerby called the highway ambulance which brought both of them to the Civil Hospital where they succumbed to injuries.
