A van driver was attacked by a few young bikers outside a school located near Sito Gunno bypass terminal today.

The attack occurred when the driver attempted to stop the bikers from honking and harassing the girl students.

Jeet Singh, a resident of Dharam Nagari, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital, said when he was preparing to drop the schoolchildren home, a few youngsters were making noise near the school with the help of extra horns installed on their motorcycles.

According to the driver, some school girls also felt harassed.

Gurman Singh, another schoolbus driver, brought the victim to the hospital and dropped the children at their respective stops.

The people said the police had earlier launched a drive against such miscreants, removed horns from bikes outside DAV College, but the drive was later abandoned.

The police said the statement of the van driver would be recorded at the earliest to initiate action against the miscreants.
