The police have arrested a youth who had allegedly kidnapped a minor girl after both went missing 11 months ago. There was a reward of Rs 10,000 on his arrest. The girl who was allegedly kidnapped was a minor at the time of the incident and was now an adult and pregnant.

Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Arshad Ali said that on January 4, a man filed a report that his minor daughter had disappeared from home on the night of January 2. He suspected that Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Krishna Colony, Bathinda, lured her and took her away.

The SP said that the police had been looking for Sukhdev and the girl for the last 11 months, but could not trace him. A special team was formed under the leadership of police station in-charge Satpal Bishnoi and supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Janesh Tanwar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Meenakshi to trace both. The team managed to arrest Sukhdev. After investigation it was confirmed that Sukhdev had physical relations with the minor girl and so rape charges were also added to the kidnapping case. He has been arrested.
