At 7.21 minutes, SSF sets crisis response bar high

With the average response time of 7.21 minutes, Punjab’s Sadak Surakhya Force (SSF) has set a new standard in reacting to emergencies on highways. This record time surpasses the platinum 10-minute benchmark established by developed nations for emergency services.
Launched just two weeks ago, the SSF is quickly becoming a beacon of hope for accident victims across the state. Between February 1 and 15, Punjab reported 322 accidents, resulting in 288 victims receiving immediate first-aid assistance from SSF teams at the mishap sites. Additionally, 200 critically injured persons were transported to nearby hospitals, while 13 lives were lost.
Gagan Ajit Singh, SSP, SSF, underscored the force’s remarkable response time, attributing it to meticulous planning and efficient team deployment. He claimed that the SSF had set a benchmark in response time, unmatched by other forces in India.
He emphasised that the Sadak Surakhya Force’s presence on highways not only ensures immediate assistance to victims, but also serves as a potent deterrent against highway crimes.
