In an encounter with the police, an accused in over one dozen criminal cases sustained bullet injury on his left leg at Moga today.

Moga SSP Ajay Gandhi said the accused, Sunil Kumar, a resident of Indira Puri Colony in Moga, was on Wednesday arrested by a team of the Moga police from Dehradun in a case registered against him for a criminal assault on November 15.

In the case, Sunil and his associates had allegedly used two firearms, and for the recovery of these weapons, the police had taken him to an abandoned house in Moga. At the location, Sunil allegedly used the already-loaded firearms to attack the police and tried to escape. In the defensive firing by the police, a bullet hit the left leg of Sunil, claimed the SSP.
