Asha Kiran school shines at Special Olympics
A total of 800 athletes participated in the 25th Punjab State Special Olympics and the first North Zone Special Olympics, organised by Special Olympics Bharat (SOB), Punjab Chapter, at Guru Nanak Public School, Ludhiana. The event lasted for three days.
CA Taranjit Singh, President of JSS Asha Kiran Special School (Ashadeep Welfare Society), said 13 athletes from the school participated in the competition, alongside players from 60 special schools. Twelve athletes from Asha Kiran School competed in athletics and one in cycling. The school’s athletes performed exceptionally well, winning 12 gold medals, 6 silver and 3 bronze.
At the conclusion of the games, Paramjit Singh Sachdeva, Area Director of Special Olympics Bharat Punjab Chapter, visited to congratulate the athletes. He praised the skills and dedication displayed by the special children in the competitions. The SOB president, Ashok Arora and Anil Goyal presented the runner-up trophy the players from Asha Kiran School.
Among those present were chief coach Anjana, Gurprasad, Rajni Bala, Anjana Devi, Hardeep, Diya, Sanjeev Kumar and members of the Ashadeep Welfare Society.
