The Kotkapura police today named Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh as an accused along with Canada-based Karamveer Singh, alias Gora, and Arsh Dalla, in the murder case of Gurpreet Singh of Hari Nau village in Faridkot.

The police have already arrested Army jawan Bilal Ahmed, Gurmandeep Singh, alias Pontu, and Arshdeep Singh, alias Jhandu, all three residents of Hari Nau village in the case.

Gurpreet, who was a member of the Behbal Kalan Insaaf Morcha, was shot dead by four bike-borne assailants on October 9 at Hari Nau village.

The police claimed that Amritpal, Gora and Arsh Dalla played a larger role in conducting reccee and executing Gurpreet’s murder.

On October 10, the police had registered a murder case against unidentified persons. So far, cops have booked six persons and nabbed three of them. Gurpreet’s cousin Sukhpreet Singh claimed that some differences had cropped up between the victim and Amritpal on the issues relating to “Waris Punjab De”.

“Gurpreet was receiving death threats. The deceased and his family didn’t have enmity with any person, other than Amritpal. Even the police have found involvement of Khadoor Sahib MP in the murder of my brother,” claimed Sukhpreet.

The police claimed that they had enough evidence indicating the role of Amritpal in Gurpeet’s murder conspiracy.
