Accused of kidnapping, man found lodged in Faridkot jail
One of the suspects, who had allegedly kidnapped two youngsters from Sukhadia Circle in Sriganganagar and thrashed them, has been found lodged in the Faridkot jail.
After committing crime in Sriganganagar, he was caught in Punjab on charges of possessing illegal weapons. On receiving information, the Sriganganagar police obtained a production warrant and brought him for questioning.
Investigating Officer (IO) Hans Raj said a case had been registered on the statement of Vishal Singh, a resident of South Avenue Colony, Abohar, on August 28, in this regard.
One of the suspects, Gurjit Singh, alias Jitu Dhillon, a resident of Kabarwala village in Malout, had been brought for questioning, added the IO. Other accused — Vinay Dhaliwal and Sagar Parihar — were on the run.
The victim said he and his fried had gone to Sriganganagar on August 25. In the evening, some boys took us from Sukhadia Circle to Homeland City Colony. We were thrashed with sticks and iron rods. Jitu Dhillon, who also had a pistol, snatched my mobile phone, said the vicitm. The victim told the police that when he and Moksh were being assaulted, Abohar resident Sparsh Nagpal was on a video call with Parihar. The police said after Vishal and Moksh raised an alarm, the people from nearby came to their rescue.
